Horse No 2 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) Z Purton After the 300 Metres shifted to the outside of SWEET DIAMOND in an attempt to secure clear running and made contact with BEAU GOSSE.
After the race, Z Purton reported that when his mount commenced well tonight, he elected to make use of the good start to ride forward and take up a position outside the lead.
He said however, in his opinion, given the manner in which his mount finished the race off, it would be better suited by being ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer M Newnham stated that he expected TACTICAL COMMAND to take up a midfield position but agreed with the assessment of Jockey Purton that once the horse jumped well, he took advantage of its good start.
He also concurred with the views of Jockey Purton that TACTICAL COMMAND is better suited when being ridden in a more conservative manner in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
